Before Shimmy, Abigail Chung was the friend everyone came to for nails and lashes. She had a knack for the small, careful details — the kind that turn a set of nails from nice into something people actually notice. She loved it, and she was good at it. Then she got pregnant, and everything paused. Lash fumes, nail dust, long hours hunched over a desk — none of it was compatible with the baby on the way. She needed a new direction.

That's when brows found her. She flew to Foshan, China, and spent over a year training under Yang Yi at one of the country's most respected brow academies. Not a weekend course — a full apprenticeship. She practised on dozens of local clients, learned the art of face mapping from someone who'd been doing it for decades, and built friendships with artists from across the country. It wasn't just technique she picked up there — it was a philosophy. Every face has its own architecture, and the brows should honour it.

She came back to Singapore with a clear purpose: to bring this craft home and do it properly. Brows by Shimmyhands is the result — embroidery, nano, ombre, lip blush — each one mapped to the individual face, never rushed, never templated. The nails came back too, eventually.
