How to Choose the Right Press-On Nail Size
A simple guide to finding your perfect press-on nail fit for maximum comfort and longevity.
The right size press-on nail should cover your natural nail bed from sidewall to sidewall without touching the skin on either side. If a nail overlaps onto your cuticle area or skin, it will lift prematurely and feel uncomfortable. A slightly smaller fit is always better than too large.
To find your size, measure the widest part of each natural nail. You can do this with a soft measuring tape, or by pressing a piece of clear tape across your nail and marking the edges. Each finger may be a different size — your thumb and middle finger are usually the widest.
When trying on press-on nails, place each one against your natural nail without adhesive first. Check that it sits flush against the nail bed with no gaps at the sides or base. The cuticle edge of the press-on should follow the curve of your cuticle line naturally.
If you're between sizes, go with the smaller one and gently file the sides to match your nail width. This gives a seamless, custom-like fit. A well-fitted press-on nail will feel comfortable, stay put for longer, and look indistinguishable from a professional salon set.
