The Complete Eyebrow Embroidery Aftercare Guide

Everything you need to know about caring for your brows after embroidery — from day one through full healing.

The first 24 hours after your eyebrow embroidery are the most important. Your brows will look darker than the final result — this is completely normal. The pigment needs time to settle into the skin, and the colour will soften by 30–40% as it heals.

For the first week, keep your brows dry. Avoid washing your face directly over the brow area — use a damp cloth around it instead. No swimming, saunas, or heavy exercise that causes excessive sweating. When showering, try to keep your face away from the direct stream of water.

Apply the aftercare ointment provided by your artist in a very thin layer, 2–3 times a day using a clean cotton swab. Less is more here — too much ointment can suffocate the skin and affect pigment retention. Just a light, barely-there layer is perfect.

Between days 3 and 7, you'll notice light flaking or scabbing. This is your skin healing naturally. Do not pick, scratch, or peel the flakes — let them fall off on their own. Picking can pull pigment out and leave patchy spots.

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. UV rays can fade the pigment significantly before it has fully set. If you must be outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat. Once healed, applying sunscreen near (not on) your brows helps maintain colour longevity.

Full healing takes about 4–6 weeks. The colour may seem to 'disappear' around week 2 — don't panic. The pigment is still there, settling beneath the surface layer of skin. By week 4, your true colour will emerge. Your touch-up session at 6–8 weeks will perfect any areas that need it.
