Lip Blush Singapore: What to Expect and How Long It Lasts

From colour selection to healing — here's exactly what happens during a lip blush appointment and how long the results actually last.

Lip Blush Singapore: What to Expect and How Long It Lasts
✦

Lip blush is a semi-permanent treatment that deposits soft pigment into the lips to even out tone, define the shape, and add a subtle wash of colour. Think of it as a tinted lip stain that lives in your lips for 2–3 years. The finish is soft and matte — nothing like the dark, lined look of older lip tattoos. Most clients leave looking like they're wearing a sheer lipstick they never have to reapply.

Your appointment starts with colour mapping. We'll show you 4–6 shade options based on your natural lip tone, undertone, and the look you want — whether that's a 'my lips but better' nude, a soft rose, or a deeper berry. The pigment always heals about 40% lighter than it looks on day one, so we choose with healed colour in mind. This part is unhurried — you'll see swatches against your skin before anything else happens.

Numbing happens in two stages: a pre-numb before we draw the outline, then a stronger numb once the lips are open. Sensitivity varies — the lips have more nerve endings than the brows, so some clients describe it as a vibration with mild pinching. It's manageable, and we pause whenever you need. The full session runs about 2 to 2.5 hours, including consultation, numbing, and the actual work.

The first week is the most dramatic. Day 1 to 3, lips look bold and slightly swollen — like you've been eating beetroot. Day 4 to 7, they peel in soft flakes (don't pick) and seem to lose all colour. This is normal. The 'ghosting' phase scares everyone. Then around day 10 to 14, the true colour blooms back from underneath. Your touch-up at 6 to 8 weeks locks in the final shade.

Lip blush typically lasts 2 to 3 years in Singapore's climate, though heavy sun exposure and frequent exfoliating treatments can shorten that. Smokers and clients who use strong actives like retinol or AHAs near the mouth tend to fade faster. A yearly colour boost keeps the shade looking fresh — much shorter and cheaper than a full first session.

Aftercare is simple but strict. Keep lips dry for the first 24 hours, then balm them constantly for the next 10 days — dryness is the biggest culprit behind patchy healing. Avoid spicy food, hot drinks, and direct lip contact (yes, including kissing and oily food) for the first week. Sunscreen on the lips becomes a daily habit afterwards. If you're considering it, message us on WhatsApp at +65 8930 8973 — we'll talk you through colour options before you book.
